Hi Mark,
Did you ever visit "The Globe Hotel," in Standish? It was a "Lions Ale" house if I remember rightly. Do you know anything about "Lion Ales"?
When I turned 18 I adopted "The Horseshoe" as my local and it's beer was from the long-gone, but never forgotten "Almond's Brewery".
I've never tasted a "bitter" as good as that was.
